The following facilities can be found in the airport: a bank, a newspaper kiosk, numerous ATM machines, a post office, several car rental organizations, and a restaurant. There is a duty-free shop on site for international flights selling things like cigarettes, alcohol, chocolate, and locally produced gifts.
During the summer of 2017, Split Airport accommodated 55 airlines from European countries, mostly from Great Britain, Germany, the Scandinavian countries, France, and Spain. In addition to those existing airlines, Aer Lingus (Ireland), a new company, will connect Split to Dublin, Monarch Airlines (UK) with Birmingham, KLM Cityhopper (Netherlands) to Amsterdam, Iberia (Spain) to Madrid, Thomas Cook Airlines UK with Manchester, and Red Wings (Russia) with Moscow. You can return to the Alitalia flight from Rome (FCO) and Eurowings (Germany) from Salzburg. New charter Air Azur (Germany), Tarom (Romania), and City (Ireland) announced lines for Split, as well as new destinations like Salzburg, Dublin, Marseille, Birmingham, and Palma de Mallorca.
Split Airport is quite hectic during the summer months. It’s difficult to catch a cab unless one is reserved ahead of time. Taxi rates are high during peak periods, and the drivers are usually nervous and exhausted. The majority of traffic happens on Saturday, and at times, it’s very difficult to locate a cab at the airport. The cost of taking a cab to these cities differs based on the time of day. If you take a cab from Split Center, for instance, you can expect to pay 20 Kuna for the beginning and 10-14 Kuna per kilometer, which comes down to a total of 260–350 Kuna. The cost for a taxi to Trogir is approximately 80-120 Kuna. A bus service to Split City is available that travels about 7 times per day, and will set you back 30 - 40 Kuna. Pleso Prijevoz buses drop off passengers at the City Center from the airport and are scheduled to coordinate with flight arrival times. The airport bus departs approximately every half hour after a scheduled international or domestic flight arrives. The airport bus departs from Split center approximately 90 minutes prior to a scheduled flight. It is recommended that you arrive 2 hours prior to a scheduled flight during the regular season. However, transfer between Split and the airport is also coordinated for passengers flying with Croatia Airlines. If departing Split by air, be mindful to coordinate the trip to the airport ahead of time, since local buses don’t operate prior to 5 am or after 12 am.
Cabs and taxi boats can also transport individuals to nearby islands.
About 500 cars can park across from the airport’s terminal. You can park for free for 15 minutes, after which you’ll be charged.
At present time, there is a lack of hotels near Split Airport, but there are numerous alternatives close by. Many homes in the locale have apartments, but aren’t recommended for an overnight stay.
After a few years of postponements, the development of Split Airport's new passenger terminal has started. Split Airport has endured difficulty with space accommodation during peak seasons when the majority of passengers come and go.
Stretching over 345000 square meters, the new terminal will enhance the airport’s capacity to 3.5 million passengers annually. Also, the parking and bus areas will be extended by 35,500 square meters. The project will cost 59.3 million euros and is expected to be completed in a little over 2 years. The extension of Split Airport is the third biggest project of its kind in Croatia, following suit with airports in Dubrovnik and Zagreb.
